The Jacob Hunsaker Endowment Fund is a dedicated initiative aimed at providing financial support to nursing students during their clinical hours. Nursing students undertake rigorous clinical training without receiving monetary compensation. With your generous support, this endowment can serve as a resource to alleviate financial stress, enabling these dedicated students to focus on elevating their education, without the burden of financial instability.
This award is dedicated to honoring the achievements of Aggie Alumni, Jacob Hunsaker. As a US Army Squad Leader in Afghanistan, Hunsaker recognized the needs of his men and provided them with emotional and mental support. This inspired Hunsaker to continue his education to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. Hunsaker received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from USU to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. Go Aggies! Hunsaker believed in therapy and medication management. He was driven to return to USU and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Hunsaker felt the meaningful impact as a scholarship recipient upon his return to USU. Hunsaker is currently pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree specializing as a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner, so he can provide the community with this model of care. Hunsaker has continued to serve the community by practicing as a mental health therapist in Cache Valley for the past 9 years. Hunsaker has an immense commitment to supporting others.
Together we can proudly honor Jacob Hunsaker’s legacy and empower our future nurses. By supporting students who embody what Hunsaker exemplifies, this award will foster academic excellence, dedication, and commitment among future generations. Your support and contributions will significantly impact the lives and careers of these dedicated students.
