Food insecurity affects 33% of students attending USU in Logan, meaning they do not have access to adequate food to support an active and healthy life and focus on their coursework, jobs, and personal goals. The Student Nutrition Access Center (SNAC) is an on-campus food pantry available to Aggies experiencing food insecurity. SNAC collaborates with the Cache Community Food Pantry, Food Recovery Network, and Cache Community Gleaning to provide food and fresh produce for students, staff, faculty, and spouses of students who need assistance accessing enough nutritious food. The program depends on student leaders and volunteers to recover food from several locations on and off campus, transport donations, and operate the pantry.
This year, SNAC became part of the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics, and Food Science and will connect students studying nutrition and dietetics with fellow students who need nutrition assistance. SNAC is supported by grants and donations from businesses and people like you who care about student well-being. Your donation can make a big difference in the health and wellness of students and their families.
